I was born and raised in the beautiful, rainy Pacific Northwest, but now reside in the hot and smoggy metropolis of Southern California. My wife and I have been married for 22 years, and God has blessed us with 4 children–from early grade-schooler to collegiate. Making disciples is my calling and my vocation: I served for 7 years as a campus minister with Asian American Christian Fellowship on the campus of Cal Poly Pomona, and now for 11 years have been serving as a pastor at Evergreen Baptist Church of San Gabriel Valley.
In my free time (which is a rare commodity) I enjoy designing and building custom woodworking projects, reading a good book, or being outdoors in God’s beautiful creation. Eating gooey cinnamon rolls and caramel apple cheesecake makes me very happy, playing board games with my family brings out my nerdy sense of humor, and exploring new places with my wife (like the lavender gardens in Maui, pictured above) puts a smile on my face. I love reading The Chronicles of Narnia or The Lord of the Rings because they stir a deep longing for heaven and a determination to live out the adventure God has put me in.
